My Story
A place for the in-between moments.
Some of the most life-changing moments happen quietly.
For me, they happened during the countless hours I spent in a rocking chair after becoming a first-time mom.
Those early months were filled with love, uncertainty, and more questions than I ever imagined I'd have. Between feedings, naps, and the quiet hours of the night, I found myself searching for answers about motherhood, postpartum, and everything that came with this new chapter of life.
I was looking for advice I could trust, experiences I could relate to, and reassurance from other mothers who understood what I was going through.
But somewhere in those quiet moments, my thoughts began turning toward the future.
I thought about the life I wanted to build for my family.
I wanted to be present for my daughter's milestones, the everyday moments, and all the little things that make up a childhood. At the same time, I wanted to help provide for my family, pursue my own ambitions, and build something meaningful that I could one day be proud to share with her.
I began wondering why being present for my family and pursuing my own goals could feel like two competing dreams.
And as I spent more time learning from and connecting with other mothers online, I realized I wasn't alone in feeling this way.
I discovered women building businesses during nap times, turning their talents into opportunities, and finding creative ways to pursue their dreams while raising their families.
I watched mothers share their experiences, recommend products, celebrate each other's accomplishments, and offer encouragement to women they'd never even met.
There was so much talent, knowledge, generosity, and determination.
Yet finding these businesses, resources, and connections often meant searching through countless social media posts, websites, and recommendations. So many wonderful things existed, but there wasn't always an easy way to discover them.
I started thinking about how much easier it could be for mothers to find what they needed, support one another, and discover opportunities they might not have known existed.
And one question kept coming back to me.
What if there was a place that brought us together?
A place where one mother's business could become another mother's favorite discovery. Where creators and business owners could connect, where meaningful stories could be shared, and where helpful resources could be easier to find.
A place where supporting another mother's dream could help open doors for our own.
That idea became Rocking Chair Collective.
What began as a simple thought in a rocking chair grew into a vision for something more than a business directory or a collection of resources.
I wanted to create a space where mothers could discover businesses worth supporting, find information that makes everyday life a little easier, build meaningful connections, and explore new possibilities for themselves and their families.
Because I believe motherhood and ambition can exist together.
I believe our dreams are allowed to change as we grow, and becoming a mother doesn't mean we have to stop imagining what else is possible for ourselves.
Most of all, I believe mothers deserve opportunities to build meaningful lives while still being present for the moments that matter most to them.
Rocking Chair Collective is still at the beginning of its story, just as I'm still learning and growing in my own journey through motherhood.
But my hope is that it becomes something far greater than the idea I started with.
A place where mothers feel seen, their work is valued, their stories matter, and their successes create opportunities for others.
Thank you for being part of the beginning.
Here's to building lives we don't have to miss while we're busy making a living.
